Picks up concussion Darnold sustained a concussion during the fourth quarter of Sunday's game in Atlanta, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports. Impact Darnold took a hit to his upper right arm at the end of an eight-yard run and was slow to get up. He eventually made his way to the locker room, where he was diagnosed with a head injury. Now subject to NFL protocols to be able to return, Darnold will have exactly one week to pass all five phases and make himself available to the Panthers offense. In the meantime, though, P.J. Walker will take over for Darnold under center. Prior to exiting Sunday's contest, Darnold completed 13 of 24 passes for 129 yards and rushed eight times for 66 yards.
