Still starter despite benching Darnold completed 16 of 25 passes for 111 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 25-3 loss to the Giants. Impact Darnold continued his run of miserable play and was benched to begin the fourth quarter. Prior to being replaced, he averaged only 4.4 yards per attempt and threw an interception for the fourth consecutive contest. After the game, coach Matt Rhule said that Darnold will remain the team's quarterback moving forward and that he was pulled only to try to provide a spark to the offense, according to Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site. Even if the team sticks with Darnold, he is a considerably risky fantasy option since he has now thrown five interceptions as opposed to only two touchdowns while averaging 165 passing yards per game across his last three contests.
