Frank Darby - Moves to IR Darby (undisclosed) reverted to the 49ers' reserve/injured list Tuesday after clearing waivers, per the NFL transaction log.
Impact Darby will now be forced to sit out for the 2024 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with San Francisco. The 2021 sixth-round wide receiver has played in 16 regular-season games across his three-year career as a member of the Falcons, operating mostly on special teams.

Kalia Davis - Set for extended absence Davis is slated to have knee surgery and will miss half the 2024 campaign, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Impact Davis played in San Francisco's preseason opener Saturday against Tennessee and recorded two tackles, including a sack. However, he suffered a knee injury in the contest and is now expected to miss extended time for the third straight season. Davis didn't play in his rookie campaign due to a knee issue and missed the final three weeks of the regular season as well as all of the playoffs last year due to an ankle injury.

Jon Feliciano - Week-to-week with knee injury Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters Monday that Feliciano is considered week-to-week due to knee soreness, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Impact Feliciano did not play in Saturday's 17-13 preseason loss to the Titans. With both Feliciano and Spencer Burford (hand) on the shelf, Lombardi posits that Dominick Puni is in line to receive first-team reps at right guard.

Impact Thomas broke his right forearm in the first half of Saturday's preseason loss against the Titans. The recovery from his surgery will keep the 2021 third-round pick sidelined for multiple weeks. With Thomas on the shelf, the 49ers will try out Renardo Green, Samuel Womack and Rock Ya-Sin to serve as the second starting corner opposite Charvarius Ward.

Cody Schrader - Role elevated in preseason debut Schrader rushed five times for six yards while catching his lone target for three yards in Saturday's preseason loss to Tennessee.
Impact Schrader was the first back brought off the bench behind elevated starter Jordan Mason on a night where the starting offense was rested and multiple running backs remained sidelined with injuries. The undrafted Missouri product didn't do much with his opportunity, but he does offer some upside with a proven college career that seemingly had him fall through the cracks during the NFL Draft. Schrader will definitely be buried on the depth chart if he sticks on San Francisco's roster, but he could be prove useful should he land in a situation with a path to touches as a rookie.

Brandon Allen - Starts preseason opener Allen completed seven of 13 pass attempts for 98 yards while getting the nod under center in Saturday's preseason tilt against Tennessee.
Impact San Francisco rested most of its starting offense Saturday, allowing Allen to start the first half and journeyman backup Joshua Dobbs to handle the remaining snaps. The latter (14 of 20 for 146 yards) looked better in the competition to be Brock Purdy's backup, but Allen had to face the opponent's starting defense and was also saddled with two incompletions due to drops. Neither signal-caller will be on fantasy radars come Week 1, as Purdy will be running the well-oiled machine that is San Francisco's offense when the regular season kicks off.

The 25-year-old was featured heavily on the 49ers' opening drive and wound up scoring the only first-half touchdown for his club. Ricky Pearsall - Unlikely to play Saturday Pearsall (shoulder) isn't in line to play in Saturday's preseason game at Tennessee, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Impact Pearsall kicked off training camp on the active/non-football injury list due to a hamstring injury, and since the 49ers activated him July 29, the shoulder issue that impacted his on-field work during OTAs resurfaced. With Brandon Aiyuk away from the team as he seeks either a long-term contract from San Francisco or a trade elsewhere, Pearsall is missing out on key reps in camp and now the exhibition slate. Pearsall's next chance for game action is Sunday, Aug. 18 against the Saints.
