Tyler Lockett - Intends to be available Week 1 Lockett (leg) said Monday that he will play in Sunday's game against the Broncos, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

Impact Lockett has been sitting out at practice since Aug. 14 due to a leg issue that wasn't considered to be serious by coach Mike Macdonald. On Monday, Lockett relayed that his lack of activity was maintenance-related, and he's healthy and ready to go to begin the 2024 campaign. The Seahawks won't post their first injury report until Wednesday, at which point how he's listed can confirm his standing. Prior to racking up 894 receiving yards in 17 regular-season games last year, Lockett had put together four consecutive 1,000-yard campaigns.

Trevis Gipson - Dealt to Seattle The Jaguars traded Gipson on Monday in exchange for draft pick compensation.

Impact Gipson had just arrived in Jacksonville after the 2023 season, but he's now already headed to join forces with the Seahawks. With fellow edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu (knee) now expected to miss the first part of the regular season, there's a chance Gipson could play a rotational role during the first couple games of the new year.

Uchenna Nwosu - Sustains MCL sprain Nwosu is expected to miss two-to-six weeks after suffering a sprained MCL during Saturday's preseason finale, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Impact Nwosu has been riddled with injuries recently, as the 27-year-old outside linebacker missed the Seahawks' final 11 games last season due to a torn pectoral and will now miss the beginning of Seattle's 2024 campaign. The USC product has been the Seahawks' most productive pass rusher when on the field, recording 9.5 sacks during his last full season in 2022. Expect both Derick Hall and Boye Mafe to see more reps with the Seahawks' first-team defense while Nwosu recovers from his sprained MCL.

Uchenna Nwosu - Dealing with knee issue Nwosu exited Saturday night's preseason win over the Browns with a knee injury and will undergo further testing, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

Impact "Not sure yet," coach Mike Macdonald said. "We'll probably know more in the next couple days." Following a career-best 9.5 sacks in 2022, Nwosu suffered a torn pec in Week 7 last season and missed the remainder of the year, finishing with just 2.0 sacks across six contests. Losing Nwosu for any length of time would be an issue for Seattle's pass rush.

Artie Burns - Exits with foot injury Burns exited Saturday night's preseason win over the Browns with a foot injury and did not return, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

Impact Burns was examined on the sideline with a left foot issue before being carted to the locker room. The veteran cornerback has been operating as the Seahawks' nickel corner this summer and started the preseason finale in that spot. A long-term issue would test Seattle's corner depth.

Kenny McIntosh - Long TD run in preseason win McIntosh rushed once for a 56-yard touchdown and secured his only target for a nine-yard gain in the Seahawks' 37-33 preseason win over the Browns on Saturday night.

Impact The reserve running back recorded his only carry on the Seahawks' third possession, a drive he closed out with an impressive 56-yard scoring scamper off left guard. The touchdown run was the latest example of impressive play from McIntosh, who put together a strong preseason and appears to have the inside track to open the regular season as the No. 3 back behind Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet (undisclosed).

Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Pair of catches in preseason finale Smith-Njigba brought in both his targets for 32 yards in the Seahawks' 37-33 preseason win over the Browns on Saturday night.

Impact Smith-Njigba was out there with DK Metcalf as the starting wideout duo for Geno Smith on Seattle's opening possession, and the second-year receiver made good use of his opportunity. Smith-Njigba was the target on Smith's first completion, which resulted in a 25-yard gain down the right side of the field. The 2023 first-round pick added a seven-yard grab later in the drive, and he projects to open the regular season as the No. 3 receiver behind Metcalf and Tyler Lockett (leg) but could very well improve that standing as the campaign unfolds.

DK Metcalf - Records touchdown in preseason win Metcalf brought in his only target for a 21-yard touchdown in the Seahawks' 37-33 preseason win over the Browns on Saturday night.

Impact Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba operated as the starting wideouts for Geno Smith on the opening possession Saturday night, and the former was the intended target on the first play from scrimmage. While that throw didn't connect, Smith went back to Metcalf to cap off the crisp 62-yard march, with the duo connecting on a 21-yard touchdown pass. It was Metcalf's only action of preseason, but he's healthy and set for another robust role as the No. 1 receiver heading into a Week 1 interconference battle against the Broncos.

Geno Smith - Sharp on one drive Saturday Smith completed four of five passes for 62 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Seahawks' 37-33 preseason win over the Browns on Saturday night.

Impact The veteran signal-caller drew the start, and after throwing incomplete to DK Metcalf on his first pass attempt, he proceeded to briskly march the Seahawks downfield on a 62-yard touchdown drive. Along the way, Smith recorded completions of 25 and seven yards to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, as well as a 21-yard scoring toss to Metcalf, getting some very encouraging tune-up work completed before a Week 1 home showdown against the Broncos on Sept. 8. Smith will be operating in a new offense this season, but his core of skill players has full continuity, upping his chances of success.
