Jordan Whitehead - Set for Sunday Whitehead is good to go this week, head coach Todd Bowles stated Monday, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Impact Whitehead returned to practice last week after missing a significant amount of training camp and not suiting up in a single preseason game. Despite this, it appears it's all systems go for the Pittsburgh product, and he should be getting the start at strong safety Sunday against the Commanders.

Impact The defensive tackle will need to reach an injury settlement with Tampa Bay to have a chance to play in 2024. Uguak played his college ball at Uconn and TCU before getting drafted into the Canadian Football League for the 2023 season, where he made 16 tackles in 18 regular-season games for the Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes.

Impact The linebacker needs to reach an injury settlement with the Buccaneers to have a chance to play in 2024. The 24-year-old made 14 tackles in 12 games in 2023 for UCF.

Jordan Whitehead - Gets back on practice field Whitehead (quadriceps) will resume practicing Tuesday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Impact Whitehead missed the majority of training camp and all three of Tampa Bay's preseason contests due to a lingering quadriceps injury, so it's encouraging to see him back at practice in at least a limited capacity. The starting safety has just under two weeks remaining to get fully healthy prior to the Buccaneers' regular-season opener against Washington on Sept. 8.

Chase Edmonds - On IR with knee injury Edmonds was placed on season-ending injured reserve Monday due to a knee injury, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Impact The 28-year-old RB won't be designated for a return, meaning the only way he can play this season is if he reaches an injury settlement to be released by Tampa Bay. Edmonds hasn't practiced since the first week of training camp and recently had arthroscopic surgery on his injured knee.

Rakim Jarrett - Will miss first four games Tampa Bay placed Jarrett (undisclosed) on its injured reserve list with a designation to return Monday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Impact The transaction means Jarrett will have to sit out for at least the first four games of the season but will be eligible to return come Week 5. Whether there's space for him on the 53-man roster at that point may depend on the health of the Buccaneers' other running backs.

Chase Edmonds - Lands on IR The Buccaneers placed Edmonds (undisclosed) on injured reserve Monday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Impact Edmonds has been nursing an undisclosed injury throughout training camp, and it will now cost him the 2024 season. As a result, Bucky Irving, Sean Tucker and DJ Williams will be the remaining candidates for a depth role at running back behind Rachaad White. There is a scenario that could see Tampa activated off IR once his health is back up to par, but it remains to be seen if they would choose to do so.

Chase McLaughlin - Clean effort in preseason finale McLaughlin converted his only field-goal attempt from 51 yards and made all three of his extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 24-14 preseason win over the Dolphins on Friday night.
Impact McLaughlin had a miss apiece in each of the first two exhibitions, so his long make Friday was a particularly welcome sight. The veteran had missed from 51 yards in the first preseason game against the Bengals, but he knocked through seven of eight tries from 50+ during a stellar 2023. With Baker Mayfield and some of the Buccaneers' other key offensive starters showing well during their preseason cameos against Miami, there's optimism McLaughlin should enjoy plenty of fantasy relevance again this coming season while attached to what should be a productive offense.

Payne Durham - One catch in preseason finale Durham brought in his only target for 13 yards in the Buccaneers' 24-14 preseason win over the Dolphins on Friday night.
Impact The second-year tight end was able to get in one last bit of preseason action after missing the second exhibition against the Jaguars due to a knee injury suffered during a joint practice with Jacksonville. Durham was able to practice for multiple days leading into Friday's contest against the Dolphins, so he should be set to fill his No. 2 tight end role behind Cade Otton without limitations right from the onset of the regular season.

Kameron Johnson - Five touches in preseason debut Johnson brought in three of five targets for 12 yards and rushed twice for 13 yards in the Buccaneers' 24-14 preseason win over the Dolphins on Saturday night.
Impact The Barton College product overcame a multi-week rib injury just in time to participate in the final preseason game, and while he didn't do anything spectacular with his touches, Johnson was kept busy during his time in the game. The undrafted rookie had impressed throughout the offseason and early in training camp, so he may have a good shot at sticking on the practice squad come final cutdowns.

Bucky Irving - Records 31 total yards in win Irving rushed six times for 26 yards and brought in his only target for five yards in the Buccaneers' 24-14 preseason win over the Dolphins on Friday night.
Impact The rookie had drawn the start in the first two preseason games, but Rachaad White saw his first and only action of the exhibition slate Friday and was the first running back in. Irving checked in on the second possession and put together another solid performance relative to opportunity, and he appears set to start the regular season as the clear-cut No. 2 back behind White.

Kyle Trask - Strong showing in preseason finale Trask completed 17 of 24 passes for 141 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while adding one carry for one yard in the Buccaneers' 24-14 preseason win over the Dolphins...
Impact Baker Mayfield started and led the Buccaneers on a touchdown drive during the opening possession, and Trask subsequently took over for the duration of the contest. As his final implies, the third-year signal-caller was sharp and mistake-free throughout, and he connected with Ryan Miller (10 yards) and Tanner Knue (two yards) for his pair of scoring tosses. With John Wolford not seeing any action Friday and Trask looking impressive with his extended opportunity, it appears likely the latter has locked up the No. 2 quarterback job.

Sean Tucker - Strong finish to preseason Tucker rushed seven times for 20 yards and brought in his only target for a 27-yard gain in the Buccaneers' 24-14 preseason win over the Dolphins on Friday night.
Impact Tucker led the Buccaneers in carries on the night while checking in second to Bucky Irving in rushing yardage, while also making a splash play on his one reception. Tucker didn't enter the game until the final possession of the first half, but he's shown well overall this preseason and should be a relative certainty for a roster spot with Chase Edmonds (undisclosed) seemingly headed to injured reserve to open the campaign.

Cody Thompson - Keeps ascending in preseason finale Thompson secured seven of eight targets for 45 yards in the Buccaneers' 24-14 preseason win over the Dolphins on Friday night.
Impact Thompson led the Buccaneers in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the night, putting together a fitting cap on what has been a very productive training camp and preseason. The journeyman wideout may have done enough to carve out a spot at the bottom of the team's receiver depth chart after recording 15 receptions for 137 yards and a touchdown through three exhibitions, and Rakim Jarrett's (undisclosed) likely placement on IR could clear the path for Thompson to make it past final cutdowns.
