Artturi Lehkonen - Not ready to return Lehkonen (shoulder) will not be able to participate fully at the start of training camp, John Matisz of The Score reports Friday.
Impact Lehkonen underwent shoulder surgery in May and while he was skating with his teammates at the end of August, he is still considered iffy for the start of the 2024-25. Lehkonen had 16 goals and 34 points -- including seven goals and five assists on the power play -- in 45 regular-season appearances with the Avalanche in 2023-24.

Pierre-Edouard Bellemare - Earns tryout Bellemare will join the Avalanche on a professional tryout agreement, RDS.ca reports Wednesday.
Impact Bellemare returns to Colorado after three seasons away, having logged 122 regular-season appearances and notched 18 goals and 15 assists with the Avs over two years. At this point in his career, Bellemare shouldn't be expected to offer much in the way of fantasy value given his limited offensive upside and the fact that he may have to serve as a healthy scratch periodically -- especially once Gabriel Landeskog (knee) and Valeri Nichushkin (suspension) return to the lineup.

Impact Lehkonen looks poised to return from a shoulder injury that required surgery back in May. It's possible the 29-year-old winger will still miss the first preseason game against the Stars on Sept. 23 given his lengthy layoff but all signs point to him being ready for Opening Night. In addition to a top-six role, Lehkonen should also feature with the No. 1 power-play unit -- at least until Gabriel Landeskog (knee) is given the all-clear.

Oskar Olausson - Skating with teammates Olausson (shoulder) was on the ice for an informal workout ahead of training camp, Brennan Vogt of The-Rink.com reports Thursday.
Impact Olausson underwent shoulder surgery back in February, which ended his 2023-24 campaign. As a result, the 2021 first-round pick saw action in just 39 minor-league contests with the Eagles in which he generated 11 goals and nine helpers. In addition, Olausson managed only one NHL outing against Anaheim on Dec. 5, recording two shots, two hits and two blocks in 11:50 of ice time. Even with Olausson fully fit, he will face an uphill battle during camp to secure a spot on the Opening Night roster.

Impact Landeskog has been skating over the summer, and while there's no timetable for his return, coach Jared Bednar said there's increasing optimism that the Avalanche captain won't have to go too deep into the 2024-25 campaign before making his season debut. Landeskog hasn't played since June 26, 2022, but before running into injury issues, he was an amazing two-way center. If the 31-year-old can recapture his old form, then Landeskog might produce at roughly a point-per-game pace while serving in a top-six capacity and on the first power-play unit.
