Adam Boqvist - Two helpers in return Boqvist picked up two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Wild.

Impact Seeing his first action in a month after missing 13 games due to a shoulder injury, Boqvist made an instant impact for the Blue Jackets. The 23-year-old immediately slotted in on the first power-play unit, an assignment he'll likely keep until Zach Werenski (ankle) returns from his own injury. Boqvist is still looking for his first goal of 2023-24, but he has recorded five helpers in 14 contests.

Cole Sillinger - Second career hat trick not enough Sillinger scored three goals, one on the power play, in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Wild.

Impact The 20-year-old's second career hat trick involved a goal in every period, each one giving the Blue Jackets a lead that they coughed up before the frame was over. Sillinger has caught fire, scoring six goals and eight points over the last nine games, and the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft seems to be putting last season's woeful sophomore slump firmly behind him.

Impact Cole Sillinger kept giving Columbus the lead with a goal in every period, but Tarasov could never make the leads stick, although two of the Wild's goals in regulation came on power plays. The 24-year-old netminder has started three of the last four games and six of 10 since coming off IR in mid-December, but his 2-2-2 record, 3.60 GAA and .894 save percentage put into question how long Tarasov will continue seeing that kind of workload.

Daniil Tarasov - Tending twine Saturday Tarasov will be between the home pipes versus Minnesota on Saturday, per Columbus beat reporter Coby Maeir.

Impact Tarasov has face more than 40 shots in each of his last two games and has played exceptionally well, going 1-0-1. Tarasov stopped 39 shots in a 3-2 shootout win in Philadelphia on Thursday and was almost as sharp Dec. 30, as he turned aside 39 shots in a 3-2 overtime loss in Buffalo. Tarasov is 2-2-1 with a 3.55 GAA and an .895 save percentage in limited action this season, beginning the year on injured reserve with a knee injury. The Wild are averaging 2.95 goals per game, 24th in the NHL.

Impact Jenner was wearing a full face mask and was in a non-contact jersey. While he is still a couple of weeks away from playing, it was a good first step in his return to action. Jenner has missed the last 11 games and has 13 goals -- tied with Kirill Marchenko for the team lead -- and 18 points in 29 games.

Jake Christiansen - AHL bound Christiansen was returned to AHL Cleveland on Friday, according Aaron Portzline of The Athletic.

Impact Christiansen played three games with the Blue Jackets during his recent callup, picking up one assist in three games. He has five goals and 22 points in 28 AHL contests this season. The move opens up a roster spot and allows the Blue Jackets to activate Adam Boqvist from injured reserve in time for Saturday's game versus Minnesota.

Jordan Dumais - Dealing with hip issue Dumais will be evaluated for a hip problem by team doctors in Columbus, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.

Impact Dumais was putting together a strong season with QMJHL Halifax, notching 16 goals and 31 assists in just 21 games for the Mooseheads. The 19-year-old winger was less productive at the World Junior Championship with Canada, garnering just one goal and one assist. The Montreal native's hip injury could bring his union campaign to a close but the Jackets will want to determine the next steps for their 2022 third-round pick.
