Impact Guhle saw 23:09 of ice time in a loss to the Kings on Thursday. He is not travelling with the Canadiens to New York, ahead of Saturday's tilt, but could return as early as Tuesday against the Rangers at home. Look for Logan Mailloux -- who was recalled earlier in the day from AHL Laval -- or Jason Struble to take Guhle's spot in the lineup.

Mike Matheson - Traveling to Long Island Matheson (upper body) will join the team on the road for Saturday's matchup with the Islanders, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports.
Impact Matheson is off to a strong start to the 2024-25 campaign with three assists in five games to go with six shots, 12 blocks and one hit. With Kaiden Guhle (upper body) already ruled out, the Habs will have to insert either Logan Mailloux or Jayden Struble into the lineup and may have to utilize both if Matheson is also sidelined.

Impact Slafkovsky is off to a good start in 2024-25, scoring once and adding three assists in five games. He is playing on the top line, alongside Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki, as well as averaging 4:45 of ice time on the top power play. Should Slafkovsky be unavailable for Saturday's game against the Islanders, look for Joel Armia or Alex Newhook to move up to the first line.

Kaiden Guhle - Dealing with upper-body injury Guhle is day-to-day with an upper-body injury suffered against the Kings on Thursday.
