Kaapo Kahkonen - Slated to face Bruins Kahkonen is expected to guard the home net Thursday versus Boston, per Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News.

Impact Kahkonen will attempt to bounce back after surrendering four goals on 32 shots in a 4-1 loss to Vegas on Oct. 12. He had a 9-20-7 record, 3.85 GAA and .883 save percentage in 37 outings last year. Kahkonen has faced Boston just once before in his career, stopping 36 of 38 shots in a 3-2 victory over the Bruins on Jan. 6, 2022.

Henry Thrun - Heads to AHL Thrun was reassigned to the AHL by San Jose.

Impact Thrun has two assists, including one on the power play, and five blocks in two contests with the Sharks this season. The 22-year-old defenseman recorded 31 points in 33 NCAA outings with Harvard University and two helpers in eight games with San Jose in 2022-23.

He's also picked up five blocked shots and a minus-1 rating, holding his own defensively on a team that has been outscored 12-5 through three contests. Thrun isn't a lock for the lineup yet, but he should have the edge over Ty Emberson while Marc-Edouard Vlasic (lower body) is injured.

Tomas Hertl - Contributes two assists Hertl recorded a pair of assists and two PIM in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Hurricanes.
