Joseph Woll - Starting Saturday Woll will defend the home crease versus Detroit on Saturday, Mark Masters of TSN reports.
Impact Coach Craig Berube stated that Woll would play the entire game. The 26-year-old goaltender is in a battle for the No. 1 job with Anthony Stolarz and the duo could end up splitting the net this season. Woll was 12-11-1 with a 2.94 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 25 regular-season games in 2023-24.

Jake McCabe - Not playing Saturday McCabe (upper body) is not in Saturday's lineup versus Detroit.
Impact McCabe could be questionable for Opening Night on Wednesday in Montreal. The solid defenseman had a career-best eight goals and 28 points in 73 regular-season games in 2023-24, as well as 219 hits and 129 blocked shots.

Impact Tavares has missed the last week of action, but looks to be ready for the start of the season. The 34-year-old center had 29 goals and 36 assists in 80 regular-season games with the Maple Leafs in 2023-24. Impact The Maple Leafs will demote Steeves to AHL Toronto if he passes through waivers. Steeves played one game in the NHL last season, going pointless in 10:14 of action Feb. 13. Steeves was an offensive star at the AHL level in 2023-24, scoring 27 times while adding 30 assists in 65 regular-season games with the Marlies.

Anthony Stolarz - Blanks Wings on Thursday Stolarz stopped all 30 shots he faced in Thursday's 2-0 preseason win over the Red Wings.
Impact It was an impressive effort from Stolarz against a Detroit squad that featured all its top stars. The 30-year-old netminder is expected to begin the 2024-25 campaign as the backup to Joseph Woll in the Toronto crease, but Woll has never played more than 25 games in an NHL season due to various injuries. If he has trouble staying healthy again, Stolarz could get a chance to prove his outstanding numbers last season for the Stanley Cup champion Panthers (2.03 GAA, .925 save percentage in 27 appearances) can hold up with a bigger workload.

Impact Robertson was absent from practice Friday after potting both of Toronto's goals the night before in a 2-0 preseason win over Detroit, and he's dealing with an upper-body issue ahead of Saturday's preseason finale rematch against the Red Wings. It's not yet clear whether his injury will impact his availability for Opening Night against Montreal on Wednesday. When he's healthy, the 23-year-old will likely take on a bottom-six role for the Maple Leafs.
