Alek Thomas - Back in big leagues Thomas was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Monday.
Impact Thomas ditched his leg kick after being sent down to Reno a month ago and batted .348/.409/.518 with three home runs and two stolen bases over 26 games to earn another shot in the majors. Granted, it's a very favorable environment he was hitting in, but it will be interesting to see whether Thomas can carry over the adjustments at the major-league level. He could push Pavin Smith for playing time.

Josh Rojas - Demoted to Triple-A Rojas was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Monday.
Impact Rojas' season batting line had fallen to .235/.301/.306 and he had started only four of his team's last nine games. The Diamondbacks have ultimately decided it would be best for him to work through his struggles in the minors. Emmanuel Rivera has cooled off recently but could be in line for the bulk of the starts at third base, with Evan Longoria also in the mix.

Drey Jameson - Logs scoreless relief outing Jameson struck out one over two scoreless and hitless relief innings in Sunday's 12-3 loss to Cleveland.
Impact Jameson gave the Diamondbacks length after starter Zach Davies was removed during the fourth inning. It was the second consecutive appearance in which Jameson threw multiple innings following a short outing from a starter -- he cleaned up for Ryne Nelson on Thursday. Jameson has been used as a long reliever since being called up May 27 but has made spot starts for Arizona and five starts while at Triple-A Reno prior to his current stint with the D-backs. While Arizona appears to be cruising atop the NL West, the back end of the rotation is shaky. Outside of Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly, the team's starters have a 6.18 ERA over 43 starts. If manager Torey Lovullo is contemplating change, Jameson is already in house. The right-hander has a 3.45 ERA over 15.2 innings (six relief outings) since returning to MLB.

Geraldo Perdomo - Bats leadoff again Perdomo started at second base, batted leadoff and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Sunday's 12-3 loss to Cleveland.
Impact For the second straight game, Perdomo was atop the batting order against a right-hander, while Pavin Smith was dropped down to the six hole. The second-year shortstop has posted better numbers across the board and apparently will continue on as the leadoff batter against righties after Josh Rojas and Smith handled the role earlier. A note of caution, however, is Perdomo's .346 BABIP suggests a correction is coming. MLB's Statcast pegs him among the bottom one percent in expected average and slugging, as well as hard hit rate and average exit velocity.

Zach Davies - Another short outing Davies (1-3) allowed nine runs (eight earned) on nine hits and a walk while striking out two over 3.2 innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Guardians.
Impact Davies has hit a brutal skid, allowing 15 runs (12 earned) over 6.2 innings across his last two starts. He's completed six innings just once in seven appearances this season, and he's lost three of his five starts since returning from an oblique injury. The right-hander now has a 7.11 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 28:14 K:BB through 31.2 innings on the year. He'll look to get back on track in a projected road start versus the surging Giants.
