Brandon Williamson - Done for season with strained elbow The Reds placed Williamson on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left elbow strain.

Impact Williamson was forced to depart Tuesday's outing against Atlanta because of the injury, and it has now officially ended his season. The left-hander also missed much of the campaign with a Bennett lesion in his left shoulder, ultimately opting to treat that injury with injections rather than surgery. It's not clear at this point whether an offseason operation for either injury might be on the table.

Noelvi Marte - Helps in comeback win Marte went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-5 win over Atlanta.

Impact Marte contributed to the Reds' comeback from a 5-1 deficit, when his sixth-inning double plated two (one came home on a throwing error). He then stole his ninth bag of the season. It's been a down year for Marte, who never developed any sustained success at the plate after serving an 80-game suspension, but he's in the midst of a hopeful stretch, going 7-for-25 (.280) with four RBI and three steals over the last seven contests.

Spencer Steer - Reaches 20-homer mark Steer went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Tuesday's 6-5 win over Atlanta.

Impact Steer's two-run shot in the seventh inning proved to be the game-winning knock for Cincinnati, which came back from a 5-1 deficit. The home run was Steer's 20th, the second consecutive year he's crossed that threshold, and gave him his first 20-20 season.

Alexis Díaz - Up to 28 saves Diaz earned the save in Tuesday's 6-5 win over Atlanta, allowing one hit while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.

Impact Atlanta made things interesting in the ninth with a two-out single followed by a stolen base. However, Diaz proceeded to strike out Michael Harris, stranding the tying run on second to lock down his 28th save this season. The 27-year-old Diaz has now delivered seven straight scoreless appearances (seven innings), allowing just one hit while striking out seven in that span. His ERA is down to 4.14 on the year with a 1.27 WHIP and 54:28 K:BB across 54.1 innings.

Impact Williamson suffered the injury after throwing a pitch in the second inning of Tuesday's contest and had to be taken out of the game immediately afterward. The Reds haven't specified the severity of his injury, but if the team elects to place the left-hander back on the injured list, his season would be put to an early end after making just four starts.

The specifics of his injury won't be known until the Reds are able to take a closer look at him, but the 26-year-old southpaw may be at risk of missing even more time after sitting out the first five months of the season due to a shoulder issue.

Nick Lodolo - Done for 2024 Reds manager David Bell said Tuesday that Lodolo (finger) won't return from the injured list before the end of the season, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Impact The left-hander will end up missing the final five-plus weeks of the season due to the sprained finger he sustained Aug. 22 against the Pirates. Lodolo should have plenty of time to get healthy before the start of spring training and closes out 2024 with a 4.76 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 122:37 K:BB over 115.1 innings (21 starts).

Hunter Greene - Throws 50-pitch simulated game Greene (elbow) threw 50 pitches over a three-inning simulated game Tuesday at Great American Ball Park, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Impact Greene came out of the session feeling great. While it should set him up to rejoin the Reds' rotation Sunday against the Pirates, the team has not yet confirmed as much. If Greene does indeed start Sunday, he would be surely be working on a pretty limited pitch count. The right-hander has been shelved since mid-August with right elbow inflammation.

Impact Gibaut commenced a rehab assignment with the Bats and gave up a home run during his one inning of work. He's missed the entire season and is hoping to pitch in the majors before the end of the season.
