Tejay Antone - Moving rehab to Triple-A Antone (elbow) is expected to pitch for Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Impact After one more outing in the Arizona Complex League on Friday, Antone will move up the ladder as he continues to ramp up in preparation for a return to the Reds' bullpen. The right-hander hasn't pitched in the majors in nearly two years. He was showing real promise in relief prior to undergoing Tommy John surgery, but given the setbacks and long layoff, he has to be considered a wild card at this stage.

Reiver Sanmartin - Undergoes season-ending surgery Sanmartin (elbow) underwent season-ending UCL surgery back on July 7, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Impact The initial hope was that Sanmartin would be able to return in 2023, but a more serious issue was discovered beyond the initial diagnosis of a stress reaction in his left elbow. It wasn't reported as Tommy John surgery specifically, but this will take Sanmartin out for the remainder of the season and could threaten his availability for the start of spring training.

Nick Lodolo - Return date moved up Lodolo (lower leg) threw a side session Friday and is now targeting a return in late August, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Impact Reds manager David Bell had previously suggested Lodolo wouldn't be an option for the big-league club until September. However, the lefty has moved his estimated return date up with his progress since shedding his walking boot. Lodolo still has hurdles to clear before he heads out on a rehab assignment, but teammate Hunter Greene (hip) is targeting an Aug. 20 return and it sounds like Lodolo won't be far behind provided he avoids a setback.

Hunter Greene - Targeting Aug. 20 return Greene (hip) has an estimated return date of Aug. 20, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Impact Greene emerged from Tuesday's side session no worse for wear and threw live batting practice Friday, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com. The right-hander has been out since mid-June with right hip issues and has been working lately on strengthening core stability. A specific target date for his return has now come into focus, with a couple starts in the minors on a rehab assignment looking likely, perhaps starting next weekend.

Vladimir Gutierrez - Cleared for rehab assignment Gutierrez (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with the Reds' Arizona Complex League affiliate Friday.

Impact Gutierrez is making the long road back from Tommy John surgery and is finally ready to test things out in game action. While he could return to starting in 2024, Gutierrez will be prepped as a reliever for the rest of 2023.

Impact Legumina has been on the shelf since mid-June with right shoulder discomfort but has been throwing without issue lately. He is expected to require about a week and a half's worth of rehab games before being an option for the Reds' bullpen.

Justin Dunn - Throws off mound Dunn (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Impact It appears to be the first time he's thrown from the bump since he went down with soreness in the subscapularis muscle in his right rotator cuff back in spring training. The goal is for Dunn to face hitters on Aug. 8 and begin a rehab assignment by Aug. 19. If all goes well, he could rejoin the Reds sometime in September.

Impact Lodolo did throw a bullpen session Tuesday, which was the first time he's thrown off a mound since he went down with a left tibia stress reaction in early May. He's just now ramping back up after a long layoff, though, and it's going to take a while to rebuild stamina. "That's kind of how I've been thinking about it. It's a little bit tough because there hasn't been a calendar yet," Bell said earlier in July when asked if September was a realistic return date for Lodolo. "That seems right to me."
