Cleared to return at Phoenix Bowman (concussion) has been cleared to compete in the NASCAR Cup Series season finale at Phoenix on Nov. 6, Jim Utter of Motorsport.com reports.
Impact Bowman will be back in the No. 48 car for the first time in over a month after sustaining a concussion as the result of a crash at Texas Motor Speedway on Sept. 25. Despite being cleared to race, Bowman won't drive at Martinsville this weekend, but he should be fully ready for the season finale Nov. 6. When he gets in the driver's seat at Phoenix, it will be the last time he's paired with crew chief Greg Ives before he joins forces with Blake Harris for 2023.

2023 Crew Chief Named Hendrick Motorsports has named Blake Harris as the crew chief for Bowman and the No. 48 Ally Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 team for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season.
Impact Harris comes over from the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports team to take over crew chief duties for Bowman next season. The rookie crew chief has led Michael McDowell to a career-best 12 Top-10 finishes so far in 2022. There's little doubt that the 35-year-old Harris is a rising star in the NASCAR garage area. He and Bowman will make an intriguing pairing next season.

Impact Bowman has not raced in either of the previous two races due to a concussion suffered when he backed his car in the wall at Texas Motor Speedway. Noah Gragson will continue to serve as the substitute driver in the No. 48 in these next three races at Las Vegas, Homestead, and Martinsville. With only one other race left it's odd that Bowman wouldn't just announced that he would play it safe and sit for the rest of the season, but that final race is at his home track of Phoenix so he likely doesn't want to rule it out just yet. Bowman and the No. 48 team took home the checkered flag the last time the Cup Series was at Las Vegas, so we'll see if the hometown kid and Xfinity Series frontrunner Gragson can do the same in Sin City this weekend.
