Recovery expected to take six weeks Hendrick Motorsports announced on Tuesday that Elliotts recovery from a broken tibia is expected to last six weeks.

Impact Elliott was injured in a snowboard accident on March 3 and had successful leg surgery that lasted about three hours. Josh Berry filled in behind the wheel of the No. 9 car last Sunday at Las Vegas and finished 29th. Berry will continue to drive the No. 9 car for HMS in all the upcoming oval tracks while Elliott is recovering. IMSA veteran Jordan Taylor will pilot the No. 9 Chevrolet at Circuit of the Americas on March 26. Taylor has been working with the Garage 56 team at Hendrick Motorsports to get ready for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. With the updated timeline, the Elliott is looking at a mid-to-late April return to the car. His recovery will be updated again in the coming weeks. Elliott is also expected to receive a medical waiver to remain eligible for the playoffs.
