Impact Elliott's championship chase would come to a disappointing end Sunday afternoon at Phoenix. The Hendrick Motorsports star would race among the Top 10 early and things would look promising for the No. 9 Chevrolet team. However, a frantic restart on lap 200 would see Ross Chastain and Elliott make contact with Elliott spinning hard into the inside wall. From there Elliott's wounded Chevy would fade through the field and finish 28th-place, 2 laps down to the leaders.
