Fifth-Place at Atlanta Lajoie finished fifth in the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon.

Impact One of the surprise finishers of the afternoon at Atlanta was Lajoie and his Spire Motorsports team. The veteran driver started 33rd on the grid and gradually raced his way forward. The full 500-miles at the new Atlanta would take it's toll on the field. Lajoie, to his credit, stayed out of the accidents and kept his No. 7 Chevrolet pointed towards the finish. The final scramble to the checkers would see him grab an impressive and surprising fifth-place finish. It was Lajoie's first Top 5 of the season, and career-best finish.

As a result, the team's front tire changer, jack man and crew chief, Ryan Sparks, have been suspended for the next four points events. NASCAR comes down pretty hard on lost wheels, and Lajoie will serve a heavy penalty for the next four races.
