Wins Enjoy Illinois 300 Pole McDowell won the pole for the Enjoy Illinois 300 NASCAR Cup Series race at World Wide Technology Raceway Saturday afternoon. He turned a fast lap of 138.598 mph.
Impact McDowell picked up some pace he didn't have in the day's earlier practice at Gateway and shot to the top of the scoring pylon in pole qualifying. Impact The Front Row Motorsports veteran topped the lone practice ahead of pole qualifying at the Darlington oval. McDowell was the only driver to top 169 mph and comfortably beat out Ty Gibbs for the fastest lap of the session.
