Jordan Addison - Ruled out Sunday Addison won't return to Sunday's game at the Giants due to an ankle injury, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Impact Addison went to the locker room in the third quarter with member of the Vikings' training staff and was ruled out shortly thereafter. He'll thus end Week 1 with three catches (on four targets) for 35 yards. Further clarity on Addison's status may be relayed by coach Kevin O'Connell after Sunday's contest.

Impact Rypien's role for Week 1 shouldn't come as a surprise, as he just joined the Vikings a little over a week ago, and Mullens already had the backup quarterback job secured. The Boise State product will only be able to enter the game if Sam Darnold and Nick Mullens both are injured and unable to play.

Impact The second-year pro is behind Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, Jalen Nailor and Brandon Powell on the Vikings' depth chart. Last year, Jackson caught two passes for nine yards across 79 offensive snaps and seven games. The wide receiver signed a reserve/future contract with Minnesota in January.

Impact This had been widely assumed after Gaskin failed to make the initial 53-man roster leaving the Vikings with just two active running backs ahead of Week 1. At minimum the 2019 draft pick figures to be a potential return specialist and he could see some playing in the passing game spelling both Aaron Jones and Ty Chandler.

Impact Nailor followed the same practice pattern as Jordan Addison (ankle), closing out the week with a full session after being limited Wednesday and Thursday. Nailor is expected to open the season as Minnesota's No. 3 wide receiver, but it's not clear exactly what that will mean in terms of his quantity of snaps and targets. Last year, K.J. Osborn handled the No. 3 WR role in Kevin O'Connell's offense and averaged just 4.7 targets per game even though the Vikings averaged 37.1 pass attempts and Justin Jefferson missed a large chunk of the season.

Impact Addison revealed he suffered a high ankle sprain in practice Aug. 14, which is a little worrisome since the injury may have been worse than first thought. However, head coach Kevin O'Connell also said he was confident Addison will play. Addison will need to make it through another practice Friday before fantasy managers can feel confident he'll get a full workload Sunday.
