Impact Prior to Thursday's session, Addison seemed to be taking part in a good portion of drills, per Alec Lewis of The Athletic, but his eventual listing on the Vikings' second Week 1 injury report ultimately remained the same as it did Wednesday. Addison thus has just Friday's practice to prove his health before the team potentially tags him with a designation for Sunday's game at the Giants. The second-year wide receiver has been tending to a sprained ankle since sustaining the injury during an Aug. 14 practice.

T.J. Hockenson - Targeting post-bye return The Vikings are targeting a return from the reserve/PUP list for Hockenson (knee) after the team's Week 6 bye, Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler of ESPN report.
Impact Minnesota placed Hockenson on the reserve/PUP list upon trimming down to a 53-man roster, which rules the standout tight end out for at least the first four games of the season, but it sounds like Hockenson's return to the field could take until Week 7, after the team's bye. That makes sense considering not only Hockenson's recovery timetable, as he works his way back from right ACL and MCL tears suffered late last December, but also the Vikings' schedule. The team has an overseas Week 5 matchup against the Jets prior to the bye. Until Hockenson is cleared to retake the field, Johnny Mundt and Josh Oliver are slated to hold down the fort at the tight end position.

Impact Mere hours after coach Kevin O'Connell told Dane Mizutani of the St. Paul Pioneer Press that Nailor may have a cap on his reps Wednesday due to an ankle injury, the third-year pro upheld that comment. Both Jordan Addison (ankle) and Nailor are in the same boat this week, so their activity levels will be monitored to get a sense of their respective levels of health ahead of Sunday's season opener at the Giants. Nailor is entering the 2024 campaign as the Vikings' No. 3 WR behind Justin Jefferson and Addison, but in 21 appearances so far, he's managed just 12 catches (on 19 targets) for 228 yards and one touchdown in his career to date.

The veteran defensive lineman signed a one-year contract worth up to $3.75 million with Minnesota this past offseason, and he figures to line up as one of the team's top defensive ends in 2024.

Impact Cashman sustained a finger injury that required surgery in mid-August, but it appears he's already moved past the issue and will be ready for Minnesota's regular-season opener Sunday. Expect the first-year Viking to serve as one of the team's top inside linebackers after recording 106 total tackles across 14 regular-season games with the Texans in 2023.
