Kendall Sheffield - Picked up by Gang Green Sheffield signed a contract with the Jets on Saturday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Sheffield played five games between the Titans and 49ers in 2023 and accumulated four solo tackles for the latter in the process. Prior to that, he spent his first three seasons in Atlanta. The journeyman will now look for a fresh start in New York by competing for a depth role in the secondary.

Impact Martinez landed in Detroit as an undrafted free agent last April but ultimately did not make it through final roster cuts. The Kansas State product will now look for a second chance in the league via a competition with Andrew Peasley for the No. 3 role under center behind Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor.

Xavier Gipson - Expected to miss a few weeks Coach Robert Saleh said Friday that Gipson (leg) suffered an injury at practice and is expected to miss a week or two, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports.

Impact Gipson walked off the practice field with a notable limp, per Brian Costello of the New York Post, but the specifics of his leg injury remain undisclosed. As a rookie last season Gipson suited up for all 17 games and worked as the Jets' primary kick and punt returner, but he now faces competition from Tarik Cohen and Isaiah Davis.

Impact Travis sustained a horrific ankle injury during his final season at Florida State, and it seems his recovery process is taking longer than the Jets originally anticipated. The 24-year-old landed on the active/non-football injury list one week ago, and it sounds like he will remain there for quite some time. New York agreed to terms with quarterback Ben Bryant while Travis continues to recover from his ankle issue.

Impact Vera-Tucker tore his Achilles' tendon in Week 5 against the Broncos last season, so he's a little over nine months removed from the injury. The 14th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, Vera-Tucker started all 16 games as a rookie but has missed 22 of 34 games to injuries over the last two seasons. Ben Bryant - Joining the Jets The Jets signed Bryant on Thursday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.

Impact Bryant has agreed to terms with New York after going undrafted earlier this offseason. The 24-year-old quarterback spent time with Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, and Northwestern during his six seasons in college, throwing for 8,212 yards, 50 touchdowns and 23 interceptions across 49 appearances.

Impact This move comes as no surprise, as Reddick was expected to hold out of training camp in search of a new contract, just as he did during the Jets' OTAs. The former first-round pick was traded from the Eagles to the Jets earlier this offseason in hopes of replacing Bryce Huff, who left in free agency. Reddick has tallied double-digit sacks in each of his last four years in the NFL, so the Jets could be down a vital piece of their defense if he continues holding out.
