Scott McGough - Picks up save Saturday McGough earned a save against Seattle on Saturday, striking out the only batter he faced to close out the contest.
Impact Kevin Ginkel -- who had picked up each of Arizona's previous three saves -- was deployed in the eighth inning Saturday and was pulled with one out in the ninth despite retiring all four batters he faced. Arizona then turned to Andrew Chafin to close things out, but he allowed two of three hitters he saw to reach base, giving McGough the opportunity to close things out. The right-hander faced a tough test in Julio Rodriguez but managed to strike him out on the eighth pitch of the at-bat. This was a nice outing for McGough after he had allowed 11 runs over his previous 4.2 frames, but while there remains a closer committee of sorts in Arizona, Ginkel remains the favorite for saves and the best Diamondbacks reliever to roster from a fantasy perspective.

Brandon Pfaadt - Yields three runs against Seattle Pfaadt pitched 5.2 innings against the Mariners on Saturday, allowing three runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out three batters in a no-decision.
Impact Pfaadt gave up a single run in each of the second, third and fourth frames, but Arizona chipped away and eventually took him off the hook for a loss. The rookie righty was pulled with two outs in the fifth, costing him a chance at a second straight quality start. Pfaadt was a popular name in fantasy circles coming into the season, but he's mostly struggled with an 8.20 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 30:11 K:BB over 37.1 innings on the campaign. He's been a little better in two starts since being recalled from the minors July 22, allowing six runs over 11.2 frames.

Impact The D-backs sent Rojas down to Triple-A in mid-June, and he's since slashed .259/.322/.389 with two homers and eight RBI across 59 plate appearances. He'll return to Arizona to take Evan Longoria's roster spot after Longoria landed on the IL with a back issue.

Impact Marte was able to make some noise against his former team, but he wasn't directly involved in any run-scoring plays. He saw a six-game hitting streak end Wednesday versus the Cardinals, but he's still logged six multi-hit efforts in 13 games since the All-Star break. The second baseman is at a .296/.375/.517 slash line with 17 home runs, 55 RBI, 70 runs scored and six stolen bases through 97 contests.

Impact Henry gave up all four runs and five of the seven baserunners during an ugly first inning. Impact It was reported earlier this month that Jameson was seeking second opinions on his right elbow -- usually not a good sign. Impact Jones hasn't played for Visalia since April 19 due to a quadriceps strain but was cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on June 13. However, he lasted just four games in the ACL before succumbing to a right hamstring strain and being pulled off the assignment. The Diamondbacks have yet to announce a timeline for Jones, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 First-Year Player Draft, to return to action.
