Impact The clutch two-run shot in the seventh served as the game-winner for the Reds. Despite the homer, India only has three hits in 20 at-bats over the course of five games since returning from a stint on the injured list due to plantar fasciitis. In 108 games played, he's now slashing .246/.331/.411 with 16 home runs, 57 RBI, 70 runs and 13 steals over 414 at-bats.

Impact Greene was well on his way to finishing six scoreless innings in line for the win, but a two-out three-run home run by Pete Alonso tied the game for the Mets and sent Greene to the showers. Impact Lively went 1-2-3 through the Tigers' lineup after relieving Sam Moll to open the third inning, but immediately ran into trouble in the fourth, yielding three consecutive hits, including a two-run home run to Akil Baddoo. The right-hander hit another snag in the seventh, surrendering a leadoff single while also allowing a batter to reach due to a throwing error. It wasn't a great outing for Lively in his return from the Covid-19-related injured list and he's now allowed at least three runs in each of his last three appearances, dating back to Aug. 1. Impact De La Cruz's second-half slump has impacted his spot in the batting order as well as potential usage. The infielder batted seventh against left-hander Tuesday, was not in the starting lineup Wednesday for the first time since being called up, then batted eighth against a right-hander and was removed for a pinch hitter when a lefty reliever entered. In fact, manager David Bell unloaded a string of right-handed batters off the bench to pinch hit in the eighth inning, a sign that he's looking for every edge while the Reds battle for a playoff spot. Until this week, De La Cruz had been off limits to such tactics, but a .181 average and .606 OPS since the break has affected the exciting rookie.
