Tejay Antone - Expects to return this season Antone (elbow) said Thursday that he expects to return this year, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact Antone landed on the 15-day injured list Thursday morning due to soreness in his right elbow, which has twice required Tommy John surgery. He was sent for an MRI and the results are not yet available, but the 29-year-old reliever but told reporters that "it's nothing catastrophic" and "just a flareup." Antone will be first eligible for activation Sept. 29, just a few days before the end of the regular season.

Carson Spiers - Back in majors Spiers was recalled from Double-A Chattanooga on Thursday, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact Spiers has been roughed up for seven runs over seven innings in two starts for the Reds this season. He will provide the Reds' bullpen with some length.

Impact Phillips allowed three runs over four innings in a spot start Wednesday in Detroit. Because he was up as a COVID-19 replacement, the rookie right-hander can return at any time. He is a candidate to draw another start next week.

Impact Lively is slated for bulk relief duty Thursday in Detroit, following opener Derek Law. The right-hander did not make a rehab appearance, having last pitched back on Aug. 26 when he went 5.2 frames.

Tejay Antone - Lands back on IL Antone was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right elbow discomfort, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact Antone had to exit Wednesday's appearance against the Tigers with soreness in his pitching elbow. The reliever downplayed the injury, but there has to be some level of concern considering he's had Tommy John surgery twice. It's unlikely we'll see Antone again this season.

Impact De La Cruz, who has slumped during the second half of the season, was held out of the starting lineup against lefty Eduardo Rodriguez on Wednesday. The switch-hitter had snapped an 0-for-22 run against southpaws the previous day. De La Cruz ran for Christian Encarnacion-Strand in the sixth inning and stole his 27th base, then stayed in the game to play shortstop and went 0-for-1.
