Impact It's not clear what injury the right-hander is dealing with or how long he might be sidelined. Richardson has spent most of the season in Louisville's rotation but had been used in long relief there for his last three appearances, allowing five runs over eight frames.

Julian Aguiar - Summoned ahead of MLB debut The Reds selected Aguiar's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Monday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact Aguiar will make his major-league debut Monday in Toronto, taking the rotation spot of the injured Hunter Greene (elbow). The 23-year-old has split his 2024 season between Louisville and Double-A Chattanooga, collecting a 3.79 ERA and 95:29 K:BB over 116.1 frames between the two stops. Aguiar should have an opportunity to make at least one additional start later this week, which would come in Pittsburgh.

Impact The Reds need to fill the spot for which Hunter Greene (elbow) was scheduled. If they summon Aguiar from Triple-A Louisville, it will be the 23-year-old right-hander's MLB debut. He's made nine starts for the Bats, most recently last Tuesday when he allowed two runs on three hits with seven strikeouts over six innings. Aguiar, the organization's pitcher of the year for 2023, opened the season at Double-A Chattanooga and made 13 starts for the Lookouts before his promotion to Triple-A in June.

Andrew Abbott - Saddled with 10th loss Abbott (10-10) took the loss Sunday, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk over five innings against the Royals. He struck out four.
Impact Abbott didn't pitch particularly poorly but was mainly done in by the ninth spot in the order, with Dairon Blanco leading off the third with a bunt single and a stolen base that eventually led to the initial run, then a homer by Blanco in the fifth that pushed the deficit to three. An additional run scored on a sac fly and Abbott's outing was over after five innings. Sunday marked the eighth-consecutive outing for Abbott in which he's alternated allowing two runs or less followed immediately by four runs or more. It was also his fourth loss in five decisions after winning eight of his previous 10. If trends are any indication, Abbott is in line for a quality start during his next outing and the matchup seems to fall in line with that plan as he's next slated for a road matchup against the punchless Pirates.
