Impact Greene, who was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday, declined to comment on the injury until the results of the MRI are known. Cincinnati manager David Bell sounded an optimistic note. "I would say initially, from what I've heard, it's good," Bell said. "But it's at least going to be the 15 days. I do believe there's a lot of hope to get him back after that." Bell has not yet determined who will take Greene's spot in the rotation Monday, and the team's starting depth is thin due to injuries to Graham Ashcraft (elbow) and Brandon Williamson (shoulder). Sheldon speculates that Double-A right-hander Julian Aguilar could be a leading candidate.

Impact Lodolo gave up one run in the first frame and two in the second to fall behind early. Things got much worse for him in the third inning, when he allowed the first four batters to reach base and was lifted with one out and the bases loaded having already given up two more runs. Impact Greene has been one of the National League's best pitchers this season, boasting a 2.83 ERA, a 1.02 WHIP and a 162:53 K:BB across 143.1 innings. For the first time this year, Greene will be forced to the injured list after experiencing pain in the elbow of his throwing arm following Tuesday's outing. If the 24-year-old can return after the minimum 15 days, he'd only miss two starts. However, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Reds play it safe with the ace despite the team being only four games out of a wild card spot.
