Jairo Díaz - Signs MiLB deal with Mariners Diaz signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Wednesday, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
Impact Diaz made 24 relief appearances for the Rockies in 2020 and converted all four of his save chances with three holds while posting a 7.65 ERA and 2.25 WHIP in 20 innings. He'll attempt to carve out a role at Triple-A Tacoma but will be in the mix to provide bullpen depth at some point this year.

Impact The contest was rescheduled for Friday, which was originally an off day in the schedule amid the four-game series. Ray remains in line to start Friday's game, which will keep the other four members of the rotation on their normal pitching schedules. The reigning American League Cy Young Award winner closed his first spring with the Mariners with a 4.61 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 17 strikeouts in 13.2 innings over his three starts.

Eugenio Suárez - Closes out spring with homer Suarez went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in a Cactus League loss to the Reds on Tuesday.
Impact Suarez went deep for the second time this spring in the second inning off Reds starter Hunter Greene. While the long ball is encouraging, there's very little doubt about Suarez's pop; however, the slugger's ability to get on base consistently otherwise is in question after he hit a career-low .198 last season with the Reds, and he didn't exactly assuage those concerns during the exhibition slate with a .143 average and 11 strikeouts across 33 plate appearances.

Yohan Ramirez - Puts together solid spring Ramirez finished Cactus League play with a 3.60 ERA and 7:3 K:BB over five innings across five appearances.
Impact The right-hander impressively allowed just a pair of hits during that span as well and looks tuned up for what could be a boost in volume during his third big-league season. Ramirez has been a relatively nimble bullpen asset during his first pair of big-league stints, recording five saves in addition to adeptly filling a middle/later-inning relief role. Daniel Kramer of MLB.com notes the 26-year-old also showed a knack for getting out of jams last season, posting a 77.2 percent LOB rate across his 27.2 innings.

Erik Swanson - Endures rough spring Swanson wrapped up Cactus League play with a 4:1 K:BB and 10.80 ERA over five innings across five appearances. He was credited with one save.
Impact The right-hander worked an inning in each appearance and gave up at least one earned run in three of them while giving up 11 hits overall. The fact Swanson pitched to so much contact is at least somewhat concerning when factoring in he's once again projected to be a key middle-relief component of Seattle's bullpen, but Daniel Kramer reports the 28-year-old had some of the best quality of contact numbers on the Mariners in 2021, a season in which he recorded a save and five holds alongside a 3.31 ERA and 1.08 WHIP over 33 appearances.
