James Naile - Returns to Triple-A Naile was returned to Triple-A Memphis on Sunday after serving as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader.
Impact Naile ultimately didn't pitch Saturday, instead serving as bullpen depth had the Cardinals needed it. He has an 11.74 ERA and 3.26 WHIP over 7.2 innings in the majors this year, and he's added a 2.66 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 44:13 K:BB across 40.2 innings with Memphis.

Impact Baker hasn't appeared in a game since July 5. He will get regular at-bats again at Memphis, where he's crushed to the tune of a .319/.433/.664 slash line and 22 homers in 64 games this season. His path to playing time is complicated by his defensive limitations, though Baker figures to get another opportunity before the end of the season, perhaps shortly after the trade deadline.

Impact Herrera has done everything asked of him so far, going 6-for-12 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored over his three games while filling in for Andrew Knizner (groin) on the 26-man roster. Herrera's playing has been limited with Willson Contreras occupying a starting role, but John Denton of MLB.com reports manager Oliver Marmol is considering keeping three catchers around once Knizner is activated from the injured list.

Alec Burleson - Homers in three-hit effort Burleson went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 9-6 win over the Nationals.
Impact Burleson was on the bench for the first game out of the All-Star break, but he made an impact with his chance to play Saturday. He opened the scoring with a second-inning blast. The outfielder has logged a trio of multi-hit efforts over eight games in July, batting .333 (8-for-24). He's slashing .233/.291/.394 with six homers, 20 RBI and 22 runs scored through 61 contests in a part-time role. Impact Steven Matz had mixed results starting Saturday's regularly-scheduled contest, but Hudson provided quality work in a de facto piggyback role. Over four appearances in the majors, Hudson has given up three runs (two earned) across 10 innings, good for a 1.80 ERA despite a 1.20 WHIP. He's been limited to relief work so far, but there's an opening in the rotation with Adam Wainwright (shoulder) still on the injured list for at least two more weeks.
