Brendan Donovan - Another three-hit game Donovoan went 3-for-5 in Friday's 8-7 loss to the White Sox.
Impact Donovan has a trio of three-hit efforts over his first five games in July. He remains stuck at designated hitter due to a no-throw program to mitigate his arm soreness. His bat's been too hot to keep out of the lineup despite the minor injury. Donovan owns a strong .289/.375/.415 slash line with nine home runs, 26 RBI, 37 runs scored and four stolen bases over 79 contests.

Paul Goldschmidt - Racks up three hits Goldschmidt went 3-for-5 in Friday's 8-7 loss to the White Sox.
Impact Goldschmidt has four multi-hit efforts over his last nine games, going 12-for-36 (.333) with two home runs and six RBI in that span. The first baseman is up to a .288/.373/.483 slash line with 15 homers, eight stolen bases, 46 RBI, 52 runs scored and 20 doubles through 85 games. Impact Leahy gave up a solo home run to Luis Robert and then loaded the bases. Chris Stratton allowed an inherited runner to score, breaking the tie and leaving Leahy with the loss in his MLB debut. Leahy had a mediocre 4.06 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 51:23 K:BB over 51 innings with Triple-A Memphis as a long reliever, and it's possible his stay on the big-league roster could be short.

Impact Paniagua missed the first three months of the campaign while dealing with shoulder tightness. He logged 3.2 scoreless innings while allowing three hits and two walks with six strikeouts over three appearances with the Cardinals' FCL affiliate. Paniagua will likely spend the rest of 2023 with Peoria.

Jordan Montgomery - Exited with hamstring injury Montgomery left his start Friday versus the White Sox due to a right hamstring injury, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Impact Montgomery appeared to tweak his hamstring while delivering an errant breaking ball to Elvis Andrus in the bottom of the fifth inning and promptly departed the game. He wasn't going to pitch again until after the All-Star break either way, but the Cardinals will surely place him on the 15-day injured list if the injury requires multiple weeks of rest and rehab. The 30-year-old impending free agent left-hander has been shaping up as a possible trade candidate for St. Louis, holding a 3.23 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 96:27 K:BB in 18 starts covering 103 innings -- including Friday's results.
