Hunter Greene - Strikes out 11 in return Greene allowed four hits and struck out 11 over six scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Impact Greene went step-for-step with Jose Quintana over the first six frames of this game. Greene missed over six weeks with a shoulder injury. He threw 58 of 81 pitches for strikes in his return and looks to be in dominant form once again. He has a 4.97 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 138:41 K:BB through 108.2 innings across 21 starts this year. The rookie right-hander will likely get two or three more starts this year, with his next projected to come against Milwaukee next week.

Luke Farrell - Outrighted to Triple-A Farrell cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Louisville on Saturday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Impact Farrell was designated for assignment by Cincinnati on Thursday and will choose to accept an outright assignment rather than testing free agency. He made 17 appearances (11 starts) at Triple-A Iowa earlier this year and posted a 5.03 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 59 innings.

Alexis Díaz - Survives for seventh save Diaz picked up a save against the Cardinals on Thursday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk over one inning.

Impact St. Louis managed only one run and one hit against a trio of Cincinnati pitchers through eight frames, and Diaz was asked to preserve a two-run lead in the bottom of the ninth. He allowed a shift-busting single to begin the frame and then walked Tommy Edman to put the tying runs on base before retiring Paul Goldschmidt on a flyout. Nolan Arenado then hit a pop-fly single to load the bases, and Albert Pujols followed with a sacrifice fly, but Diaz got Corey Dickerson to ground out to end the game and earn the save. Despite the shaky outing, Diaz has looked like the Reds' closer of the future, posting a 1.93 ERA and 75:27 K:BB over 56 innings. He's likely to get most of Cincinnati's save chances down the stretch, though those may be limited given the team's poor record.
