Avila scores 20, Indiana State takes down Murray State 72-63

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) — Robbie Avila's 20 points helped Indiana State defeat Murray State 72-63 on Sunday night.

Avila also contributed seven rebounds and five assists for the Sycamores (16-3, 7-1 Missouri Valley Conference). Ryan Conwell added 17 points while going 6 of 11 (5 for 7 from 3-point range), and grabbed seven rebounds. Julian Larry had 13 points and was 5-of-7 shooting (3 for 4 from 3-point range).

Quincy Anderson finished with 21 points, six rebounds and two blocks for the Racers (8-11, 5-3). Nick Ellington added 17 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks for Murray State. Jacobi Wood also had 10 points.

Conwell scored eight points in the first half and Indiana State went into halftime trailing 28-25. Avila scored 18 points down the stretch in the second half to help lead Indiana State to a nine-point victory.
