Long scores 17, Vermont knocks off NJIT 76-55

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — TJ Long's 17 points helped Vermont defeat NJIT 76-55 on Saturday.

Long was 5 of 9 shooting, including 3 for 6 from 3-point range, and went 4 for 4 from the line for the Catamounts (13-5, 3-0 America East Conference). Jace Roquemore added 14 points while shooting 5 for 6 (3 for 4 from 3-point range) and 1 of 4 from the free throw line, and he also had six rebounds. Aaron Deloney shot 4 for 7, including 2 for 4 from beyond the arc to finish with 12 points.

The Highlanders (4-11, 0-3) were led in scoring by Justin Anderson, who finished with 11 points and six rebounds. Elijah Buchanan added 11 points for NJIT. Adam Hess also put up nine points.
