Karl Malone Award finalists announced

On Thursday, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced the 10 finalists for the Karl Malone Award. Introduced in 2015, the honor is given to the nation's top power forward. 

Last year, Louisville's Montrezl Harrell received the award.

Iowa State's Georges Niang and North Carolina's Brice Johnson will be two of the favorites for this award in a competitive group of candidates. Here are the other remaining finalists:

Perry Ellis, Kansas

Shawn Long, Louisiana-Lafayette

Taurean Prince, Baylor

Pascal Siakam, New Mexico State

Jameel Warney, Stony Brook

Kyle Wiltjer, Gonzaga
