Top 2 teams highlight Barclays Center's hoops schedule

NEW YORK (AP) North Carolina and Kentucky, the top two teams in The Associated Press' preseason Top 25, will play in different games of the CBS Sports Classic at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Dec. 19.

Top-ranked North Carolina will play UCLA in the opener of the doubleheader, and Kentucky faces Ohio State in the second game.

Nationally ranked Villanova and LSU are also on the Barclays schedule, which was released Thursday. It concludes with the opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament on March 18 and 20.

No. 21 LSU faces Marquette, and North Carolina State plays Arizona State in the Legends Classic on Nov. 23, with the winners playing for the title on Nov. 24.

No. 11 Villanova faces Stanford in the NIT Season Tip-Off on Nov. 26, with Arkansas playing Georgia Tech in the other semifinal. The winners meet Nov. 27.

Louisville faces Saint Louis in the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational on Nov. 28.

The Atlantic 10 Tournament will be played at Barclays Center from March 9-13.
