USC the early odds-on favorite vs. UCLA

Published May. 28, 2015 2:14 p.m. ET

The highly-anticipated matchup between USC and UCLA isn't until Oct. 28 at the Coliseum. Undoubtedly it'll be one of the rivalries closely watched by the rest of the nation since there will be possible playoff implications on the line.

UCLA has won three straight against the Trojans, but a reloaded USC team and playing in front of its home crowd is what makes the Trojans a four-point favorite. Reign of Troy's Alicia de Artola has more.

"Conventional wisdom says the Vegas odds generally title three points in favor of the home side, which still gives the Trojans an advantage in the coming match up.

"UCLA will be without quarterback Brett Hundley for the coming contest for the first time in the Mora era. Freshman Josh Rosen looks likely to take the reigns, but this is new territory for the Bruins. On the other side, USC emerges from the final year of scholarship reductions with a team pegged as a contender for the Pac-12 title."
