Yacoubou's career-high 27 points spark SLU over Davidson 96-87

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Ash Yacoubou scored a career-high 27 points on 12-of-21 shooting and Saint Louis beat Davidson 96-87 on Wednesday night.

Jermaine Bishop, who started for the first time in the Billikens' last game, scored a career-high 23 points with three 3-pointers.

Aaron Hines added 18 points and Reggie Agbeko scored 12 and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Billikens (7-11, 2-4 Atlantic 10), who shot 54 percent from the field and made 21 of 26 free throws.

Up by one at halftime, Saint Louis led 59-49 after a 12-3 run capped by Hines' 3-pointer.

Brian Sullivan and Oskar Michelsen each hit 3s to pull Davidson within 87-82 with 1:30 left, but the Billikens shot 9 of 10 from the free-throw line to keep Davidson out of reach.

The Wildcats scored 26 second-chance points off 13 offensive rebounds.

Jack Gibbs, named A-10 Player of the Week for the second straight week, scored 26 points for Davidson (11-6, 3-3). Peyton Aldridge added 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
